Rénata est réalisatrice. Elle nous partage l’importance de son diplôme obtenu à l’école de la cité (école qui solicite les élèves à être constamment sur le terrain, et à pratiquer avec les meilleurs du milieu). L’enseignement complet qu’a reçu Rénata lui permet de proposer plusieurs services à ses futurs clients. Elle nous fait part de son expérience en tant que réalisatrice indépendante.

Maëlle VABRE : Bonjour Rénata CHARIKIOPOULOS, vous avez intégré l’école de la cité. Quel a été pour vous le principal intérêt d’intégrer cette école ?

Rénata CHARIKIOPOULOS : Après une licence en cinéma à Paris III je voulais apprendre la technique pour devenir réalisatrice. Il était alors impensable pour moi d’intégrer une école de cinéma payante. Financièrement d’une part et puis parce que sans concours d’entrée, je n’aurais jamais été certaine d’avoir ce qu’il faut. Etre là pour mes capacités et non pas pour mon argent.

On a la chance en France d’avoir des écoles de cinéma gratuites et prestigieuses mais je ne me retrouvais ni dans Louis Lumière (trop technique) ni dans La Fémis (trop élitiste). L’Ecole de la Cité, école créée par Luc Besson en 2012, s’imposait comme le parfait entre deux. (lien école de la cité)

M.V : Quel est pour vous l’avantage de faire à la fois de la réalisation et de la post-production ?

R.C : C’est lors de cette formation intensive de deux ans que j’ai eu l’occasion de me perfectionner à la réalisation et à la post-production. On tournait constamment des films. Si on n’était pas en train d’en réaliser un c’est parce qu’on travaillait sur ceux des autres élèves de la promotion. Du coup on s’essayait à tous les postes (régisseur, ingénieur du son, chef opérateur, monteur etc.)

Trois ans après avoir été diplômée de l’école, je travaille aujourd’hui à mon compte en tant que vidéaste freelance. Je bosse avec des clients réguliers comme Sanofi, Samsung, Se Loger, KPMG etc. Grâce à l’enseignement complet que j’ai reçu, je peux proposer à mes clients un service qui va de la conception d’une vidéo jusqu’à sa livraison. Le fait d’être réalisatrice et post-productrice me permet donc de réaliser plus de missions de A à Z sans dépendre de personne. Cela rend également mon quotidien plus riche et varié. 

M.V : Quel caméra utilisez-vous pour filmer et pourquoi celle-ci en particulier ?

R.C : Pour nos projets et nos films, l’école met à disposition deux modèles d’appareils au choix : Un Canon Mark III et un Nikon D850. C’est personnellement vers ce dernier que je me suis vite tournée (ergonomie, colorimétrie, prise en main). En ce moment j’utilise un Sony A7S II, plus intéressant financièrement et plus performant en ce qui concerne la vidéo.
