Juliette MORANT a étudié à l’ESRA Bretagne. Elle a pu réaliser son court-métrage “ Child Of Dust ” grâce à la plateforme de financement collaboratif Ulule. Lorsque j’ai interviewé Juliette, elle m’a confié qu’elle ne se considerait pas comme professionnelle dans le milieu audiovisuel, et qu’elle occupait plusieurs postes en ce moment. Mais je suis certaine que son début d’expérience peut nous insipirer pour se lancer dans le métier.

Maëlle VABRE : Bonjour Juliette MORANT, si vous pouviez rencontrer le/la réalisatrice de votre choix, qui ce serait et pourquoi ?

Juliette MORRANT : J’aimerais beaucoup rencontrer Matt Ross et parler de son dernier film Captain Fantastic. C’est un film très actuel qui m’a beaucoup touché, autant dans le fond que dans la forme. Il questionne notre équilibre de vie et veille à garder notre esprit ouvert. Une œuvre très aboutie et structurée.

M.V : Quel aspect du métier de réalisatrice trouvez-vous le plus difficile dans la mesure ou vous débutez dans le milieu ?

J.M : En mettant un pied dans le monde de l’audiovisuel, j’ai vite compris que beaucoup de choses se jouaient au réseau. Quand on débute c’est très compliqué, je trouve de tout sauf des jobs de réalisation. A première vue, ça prend du temps de réaliser, il faut des rencontres et de l’expérience. Pas seulement de l’expérience dans ce domaine, mais de l’experience de « vie ». Dans mon cas, je ne me trouve pas encore assez mature, assez consciente de ce qui m’entoure. C’est pourquoi j’ai fait le choix de partir de Paris, et de voyager là ou le vent m’emmènera.

Être réalisateur(trice) c’est être porteur d’un projet, un projet qui peut durer des années, il faut être sûr de soi et faire en sorte que ton équipe puisse se reposer sur toi.

M.V : Quel matériel/logiciel utilisez-vous pour filmer / monter / étalonner ?

J.M : Pour filmer ça dépend du budget, je fais mes petits films de mon côté avec une BMPCC (caméra Blackmagic),  sinon quand on a les moyens je choisis l’Alexa, mini si possible, j’adore cette caméra.
Pour les logiciels, je monte sur premiere pro, j’étalonne sur Da Vinci.
